Notorious YouTube star and professional-ish boxer Logan Paul is apparently on the verge of an exhibition bout against champion Floyd Mayweather.

Paul challenged the undefeated Mayweather to a fight last year, and “Money” has apparently accepted the challenge, per fellow YouTuber Daniel Keem.

Mike Feinberg of The Fighting News confirmed the fight was indeed being finalized, though he made sure to add his two cents about it being a “joke” of a bout:

“I've got some breaking news for you. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is coming out of retirement and has just officially signed a contract to fight in an exhibition match against Logan Paul — YouTube sensation Logan Paul,” Feinberg said, via John Newby of popculture. “I don't understand the fight. Logan Paul has tried his hand at professional boxing — couldn't beat the other nobody [that] nobody's ever heard of before.

“[Paul's] now 0-1. He's going to be fighting one of the best in Floyd Mayweather. It's going to be a joke of a fight, but it's signed. It's official. I heard it from a reputable source today and even saw the signed picture of the signed contract where Floyd signed on the dotted line for this exhibition match.”

Paul has had a pair of amateur fights, both coming against British YouTuber Olajide Olatunji, more commonly known as KSI. He lost both matchups.

Meanwhile, Mayweather has hinted at a return for some time, though it was unknown whether it would be in the ring or the Octagon. He had apparently been working on an event with UFC boss Dana White, though it is unknown whether that event is still in the works.

Mayweather is no stranger to exhibitions, having fought former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor in August of 2017. Mayweather won that bout via TKO in the 10th Round.

Paul has the size and reach advantage, but they likely mean nothing against a professional boxer as fast and technical as Mayweather.
