Shakur Stevenson dominated in the ring against Oscar Valdez on Saturday night in Las Vegas, coming away with a unanimous victory to move to 18-0 in his career while dropping Valdez to 30-1. Stevenson then won the night even more after the fight, proposing to his girlfriend, Young Lyric, during the postfight interview.
She said yes.

Shakur Stevenson and Young Lyric have been dating for a while and have a child together. Their daughter, Leilani Asha Stevenson, was born in December.
It was truly the best of nights for Stevenson, who took care of Valdez in impressive fashion. Stevenson knocked down Valdez in the sixth round. While Valdez was able to finish the fight, he had little chance after that.

“I'm a superstar in this sport,” said Stevenson, 24. “I want to collect all the belts at 130 and become undisputed. I deserve to be a superstar, so that's what I gotta do.”
Shakur Stevenson is currently ranked No. 1 in ESPN's junior lightweight divisional rankings. He's really making a name for himself in the ring after winning a silver medal for Team USA at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Now holding two of the four belts in the junior lightweight division, he's aiming to become the undisputed champion. There's also the possibility of moving up to lightweight for his next fight.
But for now, perhaps he can take a little time off to celebrate with his new fiancée and daughter.
