The Milwaukee Brewers are coming off of a disappointing season that saw them lose to the Washington Nationals in the Wild Card round of the National League playoffs. Washington went on to win the World Series, but it puts the Brewers in an interesting position of needing to make a move or two this offseason.

One need for the Brewers this offseason will be finding more starting pitching. They have been mentioned in rumors connected to names like Madison Bumgarner, Zack Wheeler, and a few other guys. Now, another option could be available for them to take a look at.

According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Brewers could be an option for free agent starter Cole Hamels, who is coming off of a year and a half with the Chicago Cubs.

Hamels would be an intriguing addition for the Brewers. He may not be the superstar ace that he once was, but he still has the ability to impact a season in a very positive way. Chicago didn't get the best version of Hamels, but he certainly made a positive impact.

During the 2019 season with the Cubs, Hamels ended up with a 7-7 record to go along with a 3.81 ERA and 143 strikeouts. They weren't the best numbers, but they certainly should intrigue a team like the Brewers.

All of that being said, the Brewers aren't going to be the only team with interest in Hamels. Many believe that the Philadelphia Phillies could try to reunite with him this offseason. Other teams could use a middle of the rotation starter as well.

Hamels is going to be a very good addition for whoever picks him up and the Brewers are a team to watch.
