The Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts made some big moves in the offseason at their quarterback position. Both franchises landed two amazing quarterbacks in Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan, respectively. After years of riding the QB carousel, Denver and Indy finally have their star quarterback.
On Friday, one of the greatest quarterbacks to play for both teams spoke his mind about the two new QBs. Peyton Manning, the foundation of the Broncos and the Colts' Super Bowl winning teams, talked about Matt Ryan and Russell Wilson. Manning reassured both fanbases that the two QBs will deliver when it matters most. (via NFL.com)
āI mean, look, obviously when you play quarterback in the NFL there's certainly expectations. I think Russell and Matt, they have high expectations for themselves. They want to work together with the team, get on the same page and want to help the team win and do their part. So, I think both of them will handle that well.ā
Ryan and Wilson will be donning new threads for the first time in their long careers in 2022. Ryan will now spearhead a Colts offense after being oh-so-close to glory with the Atlanta Falcons. Russell Wilson, on the other land, looks to bring his trademark gunslinging to a young Broncos squad looking for their first taste of winning.
You can likely expect Manning to play a big hand in helping these two acclimate to their new teams, especially Wilson. The superstar quarterback has been heavily involved with the Broncos even after his retirement in 2016. Heck, the two have already teamed up together prior to the season!
