The Arizona Cardinals are picking up Marquise Brown's fifth-year option just a day after trading for him, per NFL Network's Ian Rapaport.

The chaotic NFL offseason continued Thursday night in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Multiple wide receivers were on the move, including Marquise “Hollywood” Brown's trade to the Cardinals. The trade with the Ravens came out of nowhere, although Brown reportedly requested a trade. In fact, it's been in the talks for awhile between Brown and his teammate Lamar Jackson.

He was supposedly unhappy with the Ravens offense and felt his abilities were limited. Now, he gets to reunite with college teammate Kyler Murray, as well as superstar DeAndre Hopkins and soon-to-be sophomore Rondale Moore.

It makes for one of the more entertaining offenses in the league, as Brown will help replace the loss of Christian Kirk. Kirk left Arizona for the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason, as he signed a four-year, $72 million deal. The Cardinals extending his option already shows their commitment to having Brown apart of their long-term plans. The move means he's locked up through the 2023 season.

Brown accumulated 2,361 yards and 21 touchdowns in his three years with the Ravens. He had a career year in 2021. He started all 16 games, while racking up career-highs in receptions (91) and receiving yards (1,008) while catching six touchdowns as well.

The Cardinals gave up the 23rd overall pick for Brown and the 100th overall pick in this year's draft. The Ravens ended up trading that 23rd pick to the Bills to move back two spots. They ended up with Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum with the No. 25 pick. It's a trade that was a no-brainer for the Cardinals. They have already proven their worth in the trade by extending Hollywood Brown for an additional season.
