Carrie Underwood‘s Pinewood Road house in Tennessee caught on fire on Sunday, June 16. Luckily, the iconic country singer and her family are okay.
The Tennessean reported on the house fire, which occurred at 9:42 pm local time. This happened due to an off-road UTV that caught on fire and spread to the house’s garage. Carrie Underwood’s Tennessee house has a 10,000-gallon water tank beneath it which the fire crews used to extinguish the fire, per Dinah Wade, spokesperson for the Williamson County Fire and Rescue.
Luckily, all four people and three pets that were inside Underwood’s house made it out safely without injuries. “One of the pets would not leave the homeowner’s side,” Wade commented.
The fire was extinguished relatively quickly — The Tennessean’s report said it took “several hours” to put it out after pockets of fire were detected inside of the walls — and no fire damage to the house was reported, per Brad Cafarelli. However, Wade added that smoke could be smelled inside.
But the house is still standing and Underwood and her family went back inside. Property records state that the house was sold for $5.5 million in 2008. Its value has since been appraised at over $11 million.
