The Los Angeles Chargers are still without Melvin Gordon with less than a week away from their Week 1 game versus the Indianapolis Colts. Anthony Lynn is tired of answering questions about Gordon and his holdout.

“My concern right now is on Indianapolis,” Lynn said. “We’ve talked about that for a long time. I’m just ready to move on — we’re playing games. . . .

“We’ve been talking about this for a month and a half. Now, it’s time to play football.”

Since the beginning of training camp, Gordon has been absent due to the Pro-Bowl running back wanting a new contract. This season, Gordon is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is set to make $5.6 million with the Chargers.

For Gordon, he wants to receive a lucrative extension from the team before he gets back onto the field. On the other hand, Los Angeles has remained adamant that they won't discuss a new deal until after the 2019 season.

Following the team's roster cuts on Saturday, the Chargers gave permission for Gordon to seek a trade with teams in the NFL. So far, no teams have shown any interest in trading for him and signing him to a long-term deal.

Over the past few seasons, the Wisconsin product has been one of the focal points of the Chargers offense with 862 touches in the past three seasons. Last year, Gordon missed four games due to injury and was replaced by Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson.

During his four-game absence in 2018, the Chargers won all four games and their running back duo was able to replace the production of Gordon. With there being no end in sight, Lynn will likely rely on Ekeler and Jackson again when they take on the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday.
