Through the first eight weeks of the season, the Los Angeles Chargers have been without the services of Pro Bowl defensive end Joey Bosa through that entire stretch.

This has seen much uncertainty arise about his return date as there have been reports that he hasn't healed in the type of fashion that was hoped with the dialogue being more so that he's behind schedule. However, Bosa has voiced that he is making s0me strides in his recovery, according to Ricky Henne of Chargers.com.

“(It’s) the first time that I’m really making some strides to get out on the field,” he said. “It’s been a slow progression ever since I left. We kind of started from square one, literally walking on the field. You have to walk before you run. I know it’s kind of silly, but it’s kind of how it goes. It’s simple walking. Toe walks. Heel walks. Rising up on my toes. It’s just been a very slow progression.”

Bosa has acknowledged that is has been a slow recovery, but progress nonetheless for him as he works his way back from the foot injury that arose back in August during training camp and the preseason. He has since been on the mend working to get back on the field at some point this season.

It may not be at the recovery rate that was initially hoped, but these comments from Bosa do signal that he is making continued steps forward toward being back in the fold in the near future. It has simply been being patient with the entire recovery that has taken a slower pace.

The eventual return of Bosa will be a huge boost on the defensive line for the Chargers as he has quickly emerged as one of the top pass rushers in the league through his first two seasons that saw him tally at 10.5 sacks in each campaign while earning a pair of Pro Bowl selections. This could see him be a Factor in helping Los Angeles' push to the playoffs.
