The Los Angeles Chargers will not see Joey Bosa play in the preseason for at least two games. According to Jack Wang of the Los Angeles Daily News, Bosa will sit out the Chargers’ Week 2 preseason meeting with the Seattle Seahawks at home this coming Saturday due to a foot injury he sustained during a practice earlier this month.

There is nothing to worry about Bosa’s availability once the regular season rolls around, though, as Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn has indicated that the stud pass rusher’s foot is only being sore.

If anything, it’s the team’s ability to secure the football that could be worrying Lynn right now more than anything else.

During the Chargers’ preseason opener, Los Angeles turned the ball over four times in a 24-17 road loss to the Arizona Cardinals.  The Chargers generated two sacks, thanks to Uchenna Nwosu and Chris Landrum, but their efforts were wasted by the team’s errors.

The next chance for Bosa to suit up will come on Aug. 25 against the New Orleans Saints at home. Bosa could use a game or two to shake off any remaining rusts that accumulated over the offseason, but it’s something that’s ultimately up to the Chargers’ staff to decide.

Bosa is coming off a season in which he had 12.5 sacks. A year prior, he had 10.5 sacks in 12 games during his rookie campaign in 2016.
