Patrick Mahomes got to practice with his favorite target on Friday. After missing the last two days with an illness, Travis Kelce returned to Kansas City Chiefs practice during the bye week heading into the Super Bowl, per Adam Teicher of ESPN.

Friday's practice the Chiefs' last of the season in Kansas City. They will practice in Miami next week as they prepare for Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers.

According to reporter B.J. Kissel, safety Jordan Lucas was the only Chief not to practice on Friday. He did not participate with an illness.

Kelce is the No. 1 option in the Chiefs' dynamic passing attack. In 2019, he tallied 97 receptions for 1,229 yards and five touchdowns. His efforts earned him his fifth-straight Pro Bowl nod and second appearance on the second-team All-Pro.

In his two postseason games in 2019, Kelce has 13 receptions for 164 yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of his statistics came in Kansas City's comeback win over the Houston Texans in the divisional round, when he recorded 10 catches for 134 yards and three touchdowns.

Barring an unforeseen change of circumstances, Kelce will suit-up for the Chiefs on Feb 2. That is undoubtedly a plus, considering he's not only one of the best tight ends 2019 has to offer, but he's also one of the best in the history of the game.

Expect the K.C. offense to target Kelce plenty of times in the Super Bowl, despite San Francisco possessing a top-10 defense against tight ends. His smooth route-running and connection with Mahomes offer Kansas City a weapon to get out of tricky situations.
