It hasn't been long since Purdue edge rusher Nic Scourton entered the college football transfer portal, but he's already quickly established himself as one of the portal's top prizes. According to On3.com, the 19-year-old Scourton is the tenth-ranked player in the transfer portal and his expected suitors are all high-profile Power 5 programs that would be more than happy to bring the reigning Big Ten sack leader to their campus.

Nic Scourton already has plans to visit ACC Championship Game opponents Florida State and Louisville, but he's also considering Texas A&M, Missouri, Colorado and Georgia, per Bruce Feldman of The Athletic. “It’s been crazy, man, but I can’t complain,” Scourton told Feldman. “I’m just trying to make the best decision for me.” Scourton shared that he hopes to make his decision by January 7th.

At 6-4, 280 lbs., Nic Scourton has the physical profile to line up anywhere along the defensive line. He's consistently flashed both power and agility, and played some of his best football against the top tier teams in the Big Ten. Scourton had two sacks versus the Big Ten champion Michigan Wolverines, and also forced a fumble against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Along with his Big Ten leading 10 sacks — which was tied for ninth-best nationally — Scourton also accumulated 15 tackles for loss, which was the third-highest total in the conference.

Among the teams that Scourton is interested in, it's the Colorado Buffaloes and Louisville Cardinals who have done the best working the transfer portal so far this winter. Perhaps Colorado football coach Deion Sanders' recent twitter plead to Santa Claus will lead to Scourton deciding to head to Boulder. After all, he did ask for one more pass rusher, and Nic Scourton certainly fits that description.
