Legendary Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Larry Allen has passed away suddenly while on vacation in Mexico. He was just 52 years old.

Allen is widely regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in NFL history.

The Sonoma State product was selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 1994 NFL Draft.

He began his career playing right tackle for Dallas, but moved over to right guard in his second season, helping lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl that year. After spending three seasons at right guard, Allen then moved to left tackle for one year before shifting over to left guard in 1999. That was where he would play for the rest of his career.

Allen played 14 seasons in the NFL, with 12 of them coming in Dallas. He linked up with the San Francisco 49ers for the last two campaigns of his NFL tenure.

The Los Angeles native made 11 trips to the Pro Bowl and earned six consecutive First-Team All-Pro selections between 1996 and 2001.

Allen is also considered by some to be the strongest player in the history of the sport. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013 and is also a member of the Cowboys Ring of Honor.

Allen leaves behind a legendary legacy and will always be remembered.
