Lionsgate recently released the trailer of the Dave Bautista-starrer The Killer's Game.

The former professional wrestler is seen fighting for his life when he goes from assassin to target.

The story follows veteran hitman Joseph Flood (Bautista) trying to live his best life and romance with his lady love played by Sofia Boutella. He places a hit on himself after he was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. After ordering the kill, his former colleagues come out of the woodwork, while new information comes to light.

In the video, Ben Kingsley (Zvi) can be heard saying, “There's only two ways out of the killer's game, Joseph. You walk away clean or you go out on your back.”

And that new piece of information? The doctors made a mistake and Joseph isn't actually dying, but he may need to get his eyes checked. He tries to cancel the order, but it's too late.

Another former colleague Antoinette, played by Pom Klementieff, tells him, “I'm calling in every hitter in Europe, you hear me?”

Joseph then responds, “Yeah well, you tell them to pack light, because they won't f***ing be staying long.”

The trailer ends with Kingsley's “Don’t hate the player. Hate the game.”

JJ Perry directed the film based on Jay Bonansinga's 1997 novel of the same name. The movie also stars Terry Crews (Lovedahl), Scott Adkins )Angus Mackenzie) and Daniel Bernhardt (Radovan). Bautista also served as an executive producer along with Jonathan Meisner, Chris Milburn, Thane Watkins, Peter E. Strauss, Scott Lambert, Dean Altit and Adam Fields. Andrew Lazar, Steve Richards and Kia Jam served as the film's producers.

Dave Bautista was recently seen in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part 2 as the Beast Raban. He and co-star Josh Brolin had their fun on social media when they shared their reaction to the blockbuster film's unintentionally (?) hilarious merchandise. He currently has five other projects in post-production, including the spinoff Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas on Netflix.

The other project are features such as Peter Segal's upcoming action comedy My Spy the Eternal City with Kristen Schaal, Paul W.S. Anderson's action adventure fantasy In The Lost Lands which the director co-wrote by George R.R. Martin and co-starring  Milla Jovovich, Gia Coppola's drama The Last Showgirl with Academy Award winner Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michael Dowse's action film Trap House with Bobby Cannavale.

The Killer's Game will be released in cinemas Sept. 13.
