Lost in Random, revealed a new story trailer at EA Play Live. It is an upcoming EA Original title from Swedish developer, Zoink! Studios. Notably, Eisner-winner Ryan North is the game's dialogue writer. He is most famous for his work on Adventure Time and Marvel's The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Creative Director Olov Redmalm described Lost in Random as a homage to “dark fairy tales”. It was also inspired by stop-motion animated films.
The story revolves around the protagonist, Even, and her quest to save her older sister, Odd. She will be traveling accross the kingdom of Random with her companion, Dicey. The kingdom of Random is divided into six different realms, ruled by a wicked queen. In Lost in Random‘s world, a cursed black dice dictates the fate of all life.
Article Continues BelowAccording to the official website, Lost in Random will feature real-time action combat merged with turn-based tactics. “Evolving giant gameboard arenas” will provide a backdrop for all the game's battles. Dicey will also be able to augment gameplay based on your rolls. Additionally, there will be a deck-building mechanic, with each card containing new attacks, abilities, and more. Branching dialogue options will also allow players to interact with the denizens of Random and immerse themselves in its world. Sidequests will also be available for players should they decide to take them.
Lost in Random will release on September 10. It will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. You may pre-order the game here.
