She is the youngest sibling of the Lee family. Her older sister is the current Atomweight champion, Angela Lee, and her brother is the current Lightweight champion, Christian Lee. The Lee family is taking the MMA world by storm, and the 17-year-old “Prodigy” aims to leave her mark in her next bout.

In this interview, we go over the benefit of having a world-class MMA family in her corner, her fight on Friday night, and what her future holds in store for her.

One Championship Revolution Interview

Similar to her brother, Victoria Lee was very relaxed, but she also seemed eager to get to training. With her third professional fight taking place on Friday, she’s raring to go and get the job done. With her family offering a strong support system, the sky is the limit for “The Prodigy.”

Benedetto Vitale: “How much of a help has it been to have two current champions in your corner?”

Victoria Lee: “It’s definitely an advantage to have my older brother and sister there for me. I can lean on them in training and ask for advice. My dad, who is my trainer, is right there too. So I’m very lucky to have that kind of support system.”

Vitale: “Speaking of training, is there anything you’ve been doing differently to prepare for Victoria Souza on Friday?”

Lee: “Nothing too different. Just maintaining my skill set and making sure I’m good in all areas. I’ve been watching Souza’s tape as well. Just to see what her strengths are, what her weaknesses are, then training around what we’re seeing on tape. My opponent is very talented. She has finished fights before. But I feel confident in my training and that I will win.”

Considering how new Victoria Lee is to the professional climate, I wanted to see what type of fighter she would like to be known as.

Vitale: “Your sister Angela is a submission specialist and your brother Christian has become a bit of a knockout artist. What kind of identity would you like to create for yourself as a fighter?”

Lee: “Well, I’d say my brother is a submission specialist too. He always tries to set up the submission with strikes. It’s just that he ends the fight before he reaches the submission. But for my identity as a fighter, I just want to be known as a finisher. I don’t ever want to leave it up to the judges because you never really know how that could go. So, whether it’s knockouts or submissions, I just want to be recognized as a finisher.”

Vitale: “You’re on the same card as your brother. How excited are you to fight in a One Championship event on the same night as him?”

Lee: “I’m very excited to fight on the same card as my brother. Christian and Angela have fought on the same card several times. So it’s exciting to finally share that with my brother. He’s one of the best, and I believe he’ll finish the fight either by knockout or submission.”

Vitale: “How about for you? You’ve strung together two impressive submission victories in both of your fights so far. What can we expect in your third pro fight?”

Lee: “I believe I will take my opponent down and get my third submission. My opponent is well-rounded. But like I said, I’m confident in my training and I’m confident in my abilities. So, I think I’ll get my third submission win.”

Victoria Lee is undoubtedly focused on her bout on Friday. It should be an electric matchup. Victoria Souza is a bit of a finisher herself, as four of her five wins have come from an early stoppage. Make sure to catch Lee’s fight on Sept. 24, as she opens up the main card for One Championship Revolution. Find out how to watch the fights RIGHT HERE.
