Last year, Elton John headlined the 2023 Glastonbury Festival with his final UK show. This show came as a special stop on the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour. It will be available on the BBC iPlayer.

On June 5, John and the BBC iPlayer announced Elton John's Glastonbury show will be available to listen to and watch on the platform. It is a part of the Summer of Sport and Music series on the BBC iPlayer.

This is a similar move taken by John with another “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour show. Disney+ live-streamed and released his final United States concert, which went down at Dodgers Stadium.

Fans of John will rejoice at the news. They can relive the incredible Glastonbury show on repeat this summer.

Elton John's Glastonbury setlist

The Glastonbury gig was special for John. He shook up his standard “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour from the jump. He opened his set with a cover of “Pinball Wizard,” a song that he hadn't played in over a decade. Originally, John had covered the song for the film Tommy, and it was subsequently released as a single. The full setlist can be seen below.

  • “Pinball Wizard”
  • “The Bitch Is Back”
  • “Bennie and the Jets”
  • “Daniel”
  • “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”
  • “I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues”
  • “Philadelphia Freedom”
  • “Are You Ready for Love” (with Jacob Lusk and the London Community Gospel Choir)
  • “Sad Songs (Say So Much)” (with London Community Gospel Choir)
  • “Someone Saved My Life Tonight”
  • “Until I Found You” (Stephen Sanchez cover performed with Sanchez)
  • “Your Song”
  • “Candle in the Wind”
  • “Tiny Dancer” (with Brandon Flowers)
  • “Don't Go Breaking My Heart” (with Rina Sawayama)
  • “Crocodile Rock”
  • “Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting”
  • “I'm Still Standing”
  • “Cold Heart”
  • “Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me”
  • “Rocket Man (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time)”

This was a vastly different setlist than John's average “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour. John usually opened the show with “Bennie and the Jets” and would end the show with “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”

The setlist placed an even heavier emphasis on John's greatest hits than his typical tour setlists. It also featured great guest appearances such as Brandon Flowers of the Killers and the London Community Gospel Choir.

Elton John kicked off the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour in 2018. It was billed as John's final concert tour and he embarked on nine legs and over 300 shows.

His touring band included Davey Johnstone, Nigel Olsson, Matt Bissonette, John Mahon, Kim Bullard, and Ray Cooper. John Jorgenson was also a part of the band from May 1, 2019, until July 7, 2019.

After kicking off the tour with a show in Allentown, Pennsylvania, John took the tour across North America through March 2019. He resumed the tour in May 2019 with a European leg of the tour. He traveled the globe after the pandemic caused a delay on several dates.

The final dates of the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour occurred in Stockholm, Sweden. John played two sold-out dates at the Tele2 Arena on July 7 and 8.
