Comedian Dave Chappelle reportedly criticized Israel's bombing of Gaza during one of his Boston stops, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The award-winning comedian allegedly condemned the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by the Hamas at his show at the TD Garden on Oct. 19. People who attended the show said that he also accused the U.S. of helping Israel kill innocent civilians.

Chappelle's comments about the ongoing war purportedly came after he said students shouldn't lose job offers simply for expressing support for Palestine. This is when some audience members told the comedian to “shut up,” which provoked him to respond.

While other celebrities have struggled in how to respond to the conflict, Chappelle proceeded to detail the Israeli government's action in cutting off water, electricity and other essential services to Gaza.

Following his criticism, some people in the audience cheered him on, calling out, “Free Palestine!” Others asked, “What about Hamas?”

Chappelle then reportedly added at the end that “two wrongs don't make a right.”

The comedian has never shied away from controversy and its effects. His comments during the show prompted alleged walk-outs from audience members, Vanity Fair reported.

When WSJ tried to reach out to the comedian, a spokesperson said that he “denies being in Boston last night.” However, the TD Garden website lists Dave Chappelle Live: It's a Celebration, B!%?#&$! on Oct. 19 and 20.

Celebrities from the sporting world have also been on the receiving end of vitriolic comments on social media as they post their stance on this sensitive topic. The Israel-Palestine crisis has sparked discussions that have become divisive on the internet.
