In that game, they were down 1-0, but aided by an own goal and then a goal from Francisco Conceicao in stoppage time in the second half to get the win. Why Georgia Will Win

Georgia scored in eight of their ten matches in qualifying, scoring 1.4 goals per game in the process, and also scored in their opening match. Georges Mikautadze has led the way so far in this tournament. He has scored twice in two games. Mikautadze scored three times in qualifying and continues to lead the team in shots.   In qualifying, it was 22-year-old Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who led the way in qualifying. In nine matches, he scored four times, while also having an assist. Kvaratskhelia was not a major factor in the first match with just one shot, off target, and forcing a corner. He also drew three fouls. He did not add much in the second game but did move the ball well from his left-wing position.

The biggest area of concern for Georgia is on the defensive end. They allowed an average of 1.8 goals per game in qualifiers while averaging one goal in each first half. They will look for Giorgi Mamardashvili to step up. The 23-year-old goaltender played in all ten matches in qualification. He allowed an average of 1.74 goals per 90 minutes and stopped 67.3 percent of the shots he faced. Mamardashvili did have five saves on eight shots on target against Turkey. Against Czechia he was amazing. Mamardashvili stopped 11 of 112 shots on target during the game. The major issue for Georgia is the back line of defense. In each of the first two games, the best-rated defenders in both games have come from the midfield, with teams who were able to break through the midfield defense often finding open shots.

Why Portugal Will Win

Portugal dominated in qualifying, winning all ten of their matches. Not only did they win all ten, they allowed goals in just one game, a 3-2 win over Slovakia. Portugal was scoring 3.6 goals per game in qualifying and will be looking to keep that going. This will be led by Cristiano Ronaldo. He played in just nine of the ten matches, scoring ten goals and having an assist. He scored three penalty kicks in those ten goals and was averaging 1.25 goals per match. Ronaldo has yet to find the back of the net in this tournament. He has nine total attempts, with four on target, four off target, and one blocked. Ronaldo does have assists though.

Ronaldo was set up by Bruno Fernandes in qualifying. Fernandes played in all ten matches and also did his fair share of scoring. He scored six goals in those matches but set up players with eight assists. that gave him 1.5 points per match. Fernandes did have two shots and opened one opportunity in the first match. He would score in the second match, on his only shot on target in the tournament so far.

Rounding out the top trio is Bernardo Silva. Silva played in nine matches, scoring three times and having four assists. Silva also had two shots with one on target in the first match.  In the second match, he would have another shot on target, this time converting.  Silva has also been solid bassing in the tournament so far. He has completed 89 percent of his passes, while also converting on 20 percent of his cross attempts.

Final Georgia-Portgual Prediction & Pick

Portugal started the tournament slow in their first game against Czechia but picked it up against Turkey. Turkey is the second-best team in the group so far, and Portugal dominated the game. Georgia struggled with Turkey and will struggle again in this one. Take Portugal to make it a clean sweep of the group stage.
