As the NFL offseason is in full swing, some questions and concerns have come up involving New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. He has been subpar through his first two seasons of his career, but it seems the Giants' front office has his back. Even with a noticeable drop in play compared to his rookie year, Jones looks to be the starting quarterback for the Giants next year.

Giants general manager Dave Gettleman defended Jones against his critics:

While it's true that patience can be a virtue when it comes to young players, especially quarterbacks, Gary Myers' point about players like Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes having immense success in their second seasons can't be ignored. Many argue that having patience for a young player is the right way to go, however, we have plenty of history that proves otherwise.

Of course, Myers lists some all-time greats here, and it's not totally fair to compare Jones to those guys. The Giants youngster is almost certainly never going to be on the level of those players, but he could still develop into a good quarterback with the right development.

However, the clock is indeed ticking on Daniel Jones. 2021 may be his last chance to solidify himself as the franchise player the front office thought they had drafted. Hopefully, the Giants follow through and give Jones a team he can work with. Finding a talented wide receiver should be high on the priority list this offseason.
