On Sunday, the New York Giants dropped to an abysmal 2-8 on the 2023-24 NFL season with a 49-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The game marked the second meeting the two teams on the year, as the Cowboys previously defeated the Giants by a whopping 40 points in New York to open up the season a couple of months ago.

It appears that little has changed in the games since, as Dallas looked essentially just as dominant on Sunday, this time playing in front of the home fans in Arlington, Texas. The Giants recently lost starting quarterback Daniel Jones for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL injury, which opened the door for backup quarterback Tommy Devito to get the start on Sunday afternoon. Devito struggled in a limited amount of opportunities, completing 14 of 27 passing attempts for 86 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the loss.

Star Giants running back Saquon Barkley was also relatively quiet by his lofty standards, taking 13 carries for 66 yards and no touchdowns, working against a Cowboys defense that was able to overload on the Giants' rushing attack due to their limited passing game. Apparently, during the game, Saquon Barkley was not shy about expressing his frustration with the way things were going, as he was reportedly seen getting into an “animated discussion” with New York head coach Brian Daboll on the sidelines, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News (via Tom Rinaldi of NFL on FOX).

In a season filled with frustration, this would seem to be just the latest example for New York.
