The All-NBA teams were announced on Wednesday night, and Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo was left off all three tiers. Although the star center was named to the All-Defensive 1st team, he was seemingly upset about missing the former honor. Adebayo used former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to make an intriguing point.

When Adebayo heard about the All-NBA team announcement, he posted this amusing Cam Newton reaction on X:

As seen, the former Panthers QB nodded his head as to say, “They're underestimating me. That's okay I'll show them.” In the same way, Adebayo might feel that he was snubbed from All-NBA recognition. Was Adebayo's production worthy of making the list?

The 26-year-old put up impressive production during the 2023-24 season. He averaged 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. Adebayo provided a stout interior and mid-range presence for the Heat and also shot a career-high 35.7 percent on three-pointers. He is one of Miami's biggest difference makers, and he looks to continue to help the team ascend.

One of the main reasons Adebayo likely did not make an All-NBA team was that the Heat were not as successful as other teams. Miami finished the season with a 46-36 record and had to battle to the playoffs through the NBA Play-In. They earned the eighth seed in the East but lost their first-round series 4-1 to the Boston Celtics.

Although Miami was the lowest seed, their early exit was somewhat disappointing due to the fact they had made the NBA Finals a year prior. Nevertheless, head coach Eric Spoelstra and company have great things ahead.

Heat look to reload after challenging 2023-24 season

Eric Spoelstra gave the Celtics credit after they prematurely ended Miami's playoff run.

“We're not going to put this on the fact that we've had some injuries. Let's not take anything away from Boston. They've been the best team in basketball all season long and in this series, in four of the games, they played as such,” Spoelstra said, per Tim Reynolds.

Spoelstra recognized Boston for their ferocious two-way attack that was spearheaded by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The talented Celtics played with a desperation to put the series away, and Spoelstra acknowledged this fact.

“You could sense that they wanted this to end right now tonight and not let this thing get back to Miami. That's a sign of a mature team,” Spoelstra added, per Greg Dudek.

Despite Erik Spoelstra's praise for Boston, his Heat squad put up a good fight.

They were missing arguably their best player during the series. Jimmy Butler suffered a knee injury during the Heat's first Play-In matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers and missed the postseason as a result.

Once Butler comes back and joins the rest of Miami's contributors, the team will have a chance to make another deep run.

All in all, Bam Adebayo's Cam Newton reaction shows he is motivated to improve and help the Heat go higher in 2024-25. Will the star center win voters' favor and make the 2025 All-NBA team?
