Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier's late-game heroics against the Golden State Warriors on Friday was eerily similar to a game-winner that Dell Curry pulled off against the Dubs 31 years ago.

Dell, the father of Stephen Curry and Seth Curry, played 10 seasons for the Hornets and also had his fair share of clutch shots during his time. Shortly after Rozier's left-wing fader gave his team a 102-100 win, ESPN Stats & Info pointed out that it was not the first time Charlotte broke the hearts of the Warriors in buzzer-beating fashion.

Sure enough, a quick YouTube search shows that Dell Curry did beat the Warriors back in a regular-season game in 1989 with a shot near the same spot as Rozier did on Saturday. The elder Curry revealed that the play was designated for his teammate Rex Chapman, but Muggsy Bogues opted to give him the rock instead. Dell swished the triple, giving his Hornets the win at the buzzer.

Fast forward to 2021, Dell Curry was actually working the broadcast booth at Spectrum Center when Terry Rozier drained his game-winner. That shot probably reminded the Curry patriarch of his own heroics back in the day.

It's a crazy coincidence that Curry once punished the same Warriors team who now employs his son Stephen as their franchise superstar. The two-time NBA MVP was supposed to suit up against his hometown team but was scratched off at the last minute due to an illness.

For sure, Stephen Curry has heard about old stories of his old man once torturing the team he now plays for.
