The Jacksonville Jaguars have been hit hard with the injury update to rookie running back Travis Etienne, who left Monday's game early against the New Orleans Saints. Well, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Etienne could miss his entire rookie season.

This is a major blow to the Jaguars, and Trevor Lawrence– who was Etienne's teammate at Clemson– must be reeling from the news as well. As Rapoport reports, he is out for the next several months and his status for 2021 is highly in doubt as he turns his focus to the 2022 season.
Travis Etienne will now undergo surgery and will focus on 2022. https://t.co/v0wlCEaw4z

Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer will have to rely on James Robinson, who shined in his rookie season in 2020 while going undrafted, but the loss of Etienne one is going to be a big one given his versatility on the offensive side of the ball.
However, there is a chance he returns by the end of the 2021 season if everything goes as planned.
Officially, the timeline is 12 weeks minimum for Travis Etienne. He’ll have surgery as soon as possible and then would have a chance to come back late in the season if all goes well and it makes sense. https://t.co/v0wlCEaw4z

The Jaguars are certainly hoping he can recover fully and quickly, as they were excited to feature their other first-round draft pick from the 2021 NFL Draft. For now, they wait and hope for the best. Just devastating news for the Jaguars and Etienne.
