The Jacksonville Jaguars just won't stop making deals. Free agency isn't even officially started, yet the Jaguars have been hard at work locking down players ahead of March 16. After multiple deals to buff up the offense, including a monster contract doled out to Christian Kirk and a multi-year deal for Brandon Scherff, the Jaguars added another weapon for Trevor Lawrence. According to Adam Schefter, the Jaguars have signed former New York Giants Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram to a one-year contract.

Engram is set to earn $9 million in what is a fully-guaranteed deal, and incentives could see the former first-round pick rake in $10 million. It's a great landing spot for Engram to reach his potential, having been somewhat of a disappointment in recent years.

The 27-year-old caught 46 receptions for 408 yards and 3 touchdowns last season, featuring in 15 games for the Giants. It was his worst production in terms of receiving yards since entering the NFL, and was one of his worst seasons in terms of receptions, too. His lone Pro Bowl season came in 2020 when he caught 63 receptions for 654 yards and 1 touchdown, incredibly underwhelming stats for a Pro Bowler.

Perhaps catching passes from Lawrence will be what he needs to unlock his potential in the NFL, and he'll get the chance to showcase his skills on a prove-it deal in Jacksonville under new head coach Doug Pederson.

Lawrence will be absolutely buzzing amid all the news of offensive signings in Jacksonville, and he'll have a whole new unit of targets at his disposal in 2022, which will hopefully enable him to take some significant strides in his development.
