Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence knows how important the Jaguars 24-21 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 12 really was for his team. The Texans could have tied the Jags for first place in the AFC South, and after beating them earlier in the year, would have held the tiebreaker over the Jaguars as well.

Getting the win gives Jacksonville a massive two-game advantage in the division, and Lawrence realizes they are now in the driver's seat, as he explained to Demetrius Harvey of Jacksonville.com.

“We just keep winning, we don't have anything to worry about. We're going to find ourselves in a good spot. I think in that sense, it's a huge game,” Lawrence said when asked about the importance of Sunday's win over Houston. “To take more control of this division and take that next step and solidify ourselves, I think it's a huge game, and we did a great job finding a way to win.”

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence fired up after historic outing vs. Texans

In a battle between two of the NFL's best young quarterbacks, Lawrence came out the victor and racked up 364 yards and a go-ahead touchdown pass to Calvin Ridley that would hold up as the winner. Lawrence also had a rushing touchdown on the day.

The Jaguars have been one of the league's hottest teams over the last two months, winning seven of their last eight games. With more breathing room at the top of the division, the Jaguars can set their sights on gaining the top seed in the AFC.
