Actor/comedian Pete Davidson has just been confirmed as a participant for the highly-anticipated Jake Paul-Ben Askren fight on April 17. Davidson, however, will not take the ring as he's just agreed to join hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg as part of the bout's commentary team.
This report comes via TMZ Sports:
TMZ Sports has confirmed the “Saturday Night Live” star will be a part of the broadcast team for the very first Triller Fight Club 2021 event on April 17 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
We're told he'll be working the event alongside Snoop, Mario Lopez, supermodel Taylor Hill, and social media stars Dixie and Charli D’Amelio.
The play-by-play announcers are seasoned veterans when it comes to boxing — Ray Flores, Al Bernstein and Mike Coppinger.
There's no shortage of star power in what has become a much-anticipated fight between one of the most popular YouTubers on the planet in Jake Paul and former UFC fighter Ben Askren. As the report notes, the play-by-play will be called by veteran commentators who should be able to provide some meaningful insight about the fight. For their part, Davidson and Snoop will be more than capable of bringing in a bit of a comedic punch to the festivities.
The Paul-Askren bout has been nothing short of sensational. Paul, who has been quite impressive in the boxing ring since he made his debut some time ago, will put his reputation on the line in what is expected to be his toughest test to date against a seasoned fighter in Askren. Needless to say, it's also going to bring in quite a paycheck for the one and only Jake Paul.
