Mila Kunis is the latest addition to Rian Johnson's Knives Out 3 (properly titled Wake Up Dead Man) cast. She joins a stacked ensemble headlined by Daniel Craig and franchise newcomers Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, and Jeremy Renner.

Deadline broke the news of Kunis' casting. O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla) were the first to join the cast. Kerry Washington, Scott, Close, and Renner subsequently joined the project. Craig, who plays the series' detective, Benoit Blanc, will return in the third film.

The plot details for Knives Out 3 are being kept under wraps. Who the cast members are playing will likely remain a secret until the film comes out.

Wake Up Dead Man was revealed to be the title of the Knives Out sequel on May 24, 2024. Since then, the cast has quickly been assembled as the film heads towards production. Deadline's report added that the film will be heading into production “next month” with Netflix eyeing a 2025 release.

Rian Johnson is back as the director of the film and also wrote the script. He will produce it through T-Street along with his producing partner, Ram Bergman.

The Knives Out franchise

Knives Out was released in 2019 to rave reviews and box office success. The film was distributed by Lionsgate and made over $312 million on a $40 million budget. Netflix acquired the rights to two sequels for their platform for a whopping $450 million.

Glass Onion is the first standalone sequel of the two. Unlike its predecessor, Glass Onion didn't receive a wide theatrical release. It got the biggest theatrical release of a Netflix film but only grossed $13,280,000 million ahead of its streaming debut.

Daniel Craig is the constant of the Knives Out cast. Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, and Toni Collette headlined the first film. Glass Onion featured the likes of Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista, and Leslie Odom Jr.
