Respect begets respect. That's what Hall of Famers Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley have been preaching since they started to step foot inside the TNT studios to be part of the “Inside The NBA” crew. Shaq and Chuck have been two of the more vocal members of the “Inside the NBA” panel and have been known to criticize stars like LeBron James, Damian Lillard, and most (if not all) players in the league.

According to LeBron James and the many other athletes in this parade of stars, though, it's all about love and mutual admiration between all of them amid all the trash-talking and post-game banter.

In TNT's “The Inside Story“, a four-part series to celebrate three decades of the show, LeBron James, Damian Lillard, and numerous other superstars in the league, all shared their thoughts on the criticisms they've received from these two legendary NBA icons over the course of their respective careers.

“It's always interesting when you see Hall of Famers up there speaking about your game,” Lillard, the Portland Trail Blazers superstar, mentioned. “When it's negative, you're like ‘man, I wish they didn't say that about me' and when it's positive, you feel some sense of validation.”

The same goes for the reigning Finals MVP, LeBron James, who shares the same admiration and respect for both Shaq and Chuck.

“They sit up there and they shoot they sh-t. They say what they say,” LeBron James said. “You either respect it or not. They don't hold back, especially Chuck. But you respect it because they actually put in the work.”

In addition to LeBron James, Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors and Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat also expressed their gratitude for the two Hall of Famers for keeping it real and calling them out when they need to be called out.
