Sony's upcoming installment in the Spider-Man Universe (SSU), “Madame Web,” is making headlines for its reported runtime, which could set a record within the franchise. According to the Norwegian ticketing company website FilmWeb, the film is expected to have a runtime of 1 hour and 56 minutes (116 mins). If accurate, this would make “Madame Web” the lengthiest entry in Sony's SSU, surpassing the previous record held by 2018's “Venom” with a runtime of 112 minutes, according to CBR.

“Madame Web” is the fourth entry in the SSU, a shared universe featuring live-action Marvel films and TV series centered around Spider-Man's foes and supporting characters. The franchise kicked off with “Venom,” followed by “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” and “Morbius.” Following “Madame Web,” Sony has two more SSU movies scheduled for 2024 – “Kraven the Hunter” in August and “Venom 3” in November. Additionally, two live-action series, “Silk: Spider Society” and “Spider-Man Noir,” are in development for Amazon's Prime Video platform.

The film's ensemble cast includes Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter (Spider-Woman), Isabela Merced as Anya Corazon/Araña, Celeste O'Connor as Mattie Franklin/Spider-Woman, and Tahar Rahim as Ezekiel Sims. Emma Roberts, Adam Scott, Zosia Mamet, and Mike Epps are also part of the cast, with their roles yet to be officially disclosed.

Directed and co-written by S.J. Clarkson, “Madame Web” is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2024. The film explores the Marvel universe with a focus on characters like Madame Web, Spider-Woman, and others, promising an engaging addition to Sony's expanding Spider-Man cinematic universe.
