Dirk Nowitzki has been officially elected to the 2023 Hall of Fame class, and sure enough, the Dallas Mavericks legend couldn't be happier with the honor.

After the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame made the announcement on Saturday, Nowitzki took to Twitter to react to the milestone. The Mavs great joins Pau Gasol, Dwyane Wade, Tony Parker, Becky Hammon and Gregg Popovich in the elite class that headlines this year's Hall of Famers, and he couldn't believe he's now part of such group of amazing people who have made a huge impact in the game and continue to influence it.

“Amazing class! So humbled and honored,” Nowitzki wrote.

Dirk Nowitzki certainly deserves the recognition, though. He is one of the most popular international players to step foot on the NBA hardwood, and there's no doubt he had a big role in making the NBA and the game of basketball the global league and sport that they are today.

A one-time champion, NBA MVP, NBA Finals MVP and a perennial All-Star, Nowitzki has achieved it all and more at the highest level of basketball. He also had a career like no other, staying with the Mavs throughout his whole 21-year career and helping establish the franchise to the powerhouse team it is now.

There was never any shred of doubt that Nowitzki would be a Hall of Famer one day. Everyone knew he's a first-ballot HOFer. However, it's still incredible to see him actually be able to achieve it and join the other legends of the game.

Congratulations, Dirk!
