The Yankees have been under fire after an underwhelming 2023 season. New York went 82-80 and narrowly missed the MLB Playoffs. The team finished the regular season fourth in the AL East. Aaron Judge was one of New York's bright spots last season.

Judge batted .267 and hit 37 home runs, which ranked him 10th in the MLB. One of the major areas Judge can improve on is his availability. The 31-year-old only played 109 games during the 23-24 season. Still, the Yankees want to keep him as a major component of the offense.

Alex Verdugo's arrival should help provide much-needed support to Judge and New York's offense Verdugo is a career .281 hitter and will offer valuable depth to the team. If New York can strike gold on Juan Soto or Cody Bellinger, their offense will be even more potent.

GM Brian Cashman is not holding back on making moves to avenge the Yankees' lackluster season. After New York's leadership was under fire for purely causing on analytics, the team is proving that getting and retaining top-notch personnel remains a priority.
