The Chicago White Sox have locked up arguably their most important arm on Saturday. The team has announced they've extended All-Star Lance Lynn to a two-year, $38 million deal with a club option in 2024.

This was basically a no-brainer for the White Sox. Lynn has been absolutely spectacular for the Southsiders this season as they currently have the best record in the American League Central. The two-time All-Star has gone 9-3 with a 1.99 ERA while striking out 105 in 90.2 innings.
Article Continues BelowLynn was set to become a free agent in 2022, so this move makes sense for the White Sox. At 54-36, they're currently one of the better teams in baseball and Lynn has been a huge part of that. With the former Cardinals righty leading the way, Chicago has a 3.62 ERA, which is top-10 in the big leagues. His experience has also been valuable in mentoring young guys on the staff like Lucas Giolito, Dylan Cease, and Carlos Rodon.
The White Sox acquired Lance Lynn from the Texas Rangers in December in exchange for Dane Dunning and Avery Weems. Needless to say, Chi-Town definitely won out on this trade. Lynn will also be happy to get a healthy payday after getting paid just over $9 million in his final season with Texas. Now, he'll receive $18.5 million in each of the next two campaigns with the White Sox. Talk about a raise.
