After six weeks, the Fist of Khonshu's adventures on Disney+ has come to an end. During that time, Marvel fans stood with Marc Spector and Steven Grant as they journeyed together to hinder Ammit from coming to life while dealing with their own issues. This week, though, is where it all ends. Those who just watched the conclusion would do well to learn more with Moon Knight episode 6 ending explained.

Moon Knight episode 6 ending explained

Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac, Marvel, EntertainmentThis week's finale starts with an unconscious Marc Spector being dragged by Arthur Harrow's men and examined by the cult leader himself. While he's activating Ammit's ushabti, Layla sneaks toward Marc to see whether he's alive. Upon learning that he's not breathing, she finds the golden scarab on his body, which starts to float.

Outside the tomb, a convoy of vehicles passes by a checkpoint with Harrow and his men stepping out. As the Egyptian security personnel tries to stop him, the cult leader uses his staff to eliminate them, while one of them was spared.

As Layla approaches Harrow in disguise, a dead guard possessed by Tawaret communicates Marc's message to her. The goddess pleads with Layla to hold back and wait for Marc, a thought to which she objects.

The convoy, led by Harrow, approaches the council's area inside the pyramids and faces off against the avatars of other Egyptian gods. Harrow makes short work of them and releases Ammit from her imprisonment inside the ushabti.

As this happens, Layla sneaks off and grabs Khonshu's ushabti. Ammit, for her part, talks to Harrow as he submits to the Egyptian goddess. She then formally recognizes him as her avatar and imbues him with her power.

Layla, meanwhile, frees Khonshu. He then invites her to become his new avatar, an offer that she firmly rejects. The god of the moon confronts Ammit, Harrow, and his men without Layla as his avatar.

Over in the Field of Reeds, Tawaret congratulates Marc for balancing himself and implores him to enjoy his peace in the afterlife. The mercenary asks for Steven and says he has to go back for him. He returns to the desert to find his alternate personality, only to find him hardened in the sand.

Marc tries to resurrect Steven by saying how much he means to him. Before he completely turns to sand, the Gates of Osiris open and both of them come back to life. The pair hug and enter the gates back to the land of the living as a giant sandstorm chase them. Tawaret arrives in the nick of time to give them more time.

Inside the pyramids, Khonshu battles Ammit and is about to lose. At that moment, Marc returns to life, fully healed, and dons his Moon Knight Suit.

Outside the pyramids, Khonshu speaks to Steven's Mr. Knight. He then gets a commitment to be released from his service once Ammit has been stopped. They then proceed to Cairo to confront Ammit.

As this happens, Layla discovers from one of the avatars that Ammit can be stopped by imprisoning Ammit in a mortal form. This can only be done with the help of more avatars, she learns. Layla then calls on Tawaret as Harrow chases her. She then accepts to be the Egyptian goddess' avatar while the roof above her head falls down. Layla comes out with a new costume and is imbued by Tawaret's abilities.

Although he didn't catch Layla, Harrow proceeds with his plan by climbing up the pyramids to enact the judgment of souls everywhere. A number of souls leave their bodies into Ammit, who is now growing big. Moon Knight arrives and stops Harrow from enacting his plan while Khonshu battles Ammit.

Harrow gets the upper hand on Moon Knight and is about to deliver a killing blow on the streets of Cairo. As this occurs, Layla arrives to save him with her new abilities, a detail both Marc and Steven are glad for. The two then battle several mercenaries until only Harrow, Layla, and Moon Knight remain.

During this fight, Steven's Mr. Knight comes out at several points to fight Harrow. Layla backs off to save bystanders from getting hurt. Harrow then lands a blast from his cane on Moon Knight as Ammit stabs Khonshu in the background. The cult leader then stabs Marc in the chest and drains his lifeforce. All of a sudden, he blacks out again, only to see him on top of an unconscious Harrow.

Marc then asks Steven if he was responsible. Layla was shocked to see what happened and ask Marc what he did. The pair then return to the temple and try to imprison Ammit back into the mortal form of Harrow. Khonshu arrives and says Marc should kill Harrow to end Ammit as well.

Layla goes a different route and says Marc is free not to kill Harrow. He then goes against Khonshu by not killing Ammit inside Harrow and orders the god to release him from their service. A bright light blinds everything and suddenly, the setting is back in the psychiatric ward.

Marc is seen here conversing with Harrow as a psychologist with footsteps filled with blood. Marc is talking to Steve inside his head and they decide to go back to the real world.

Marc then wakes up inside Steven's apartment and notes how his alternate personality could have lived in such a mess. He steps away from the bed, only to trip due to a cord tied around his ankle. At this point, the main story of the episode ends.

After the credits, Arthur is seen inside a mental ward with someone taking him away inside a limousine. He then sees Khonshu and the god talks about Marc's rejection of him. He then taps the divider and introduces Jake Lockley driving the car. The driver turns around with a gun in his hand and kills Harrow.

What just happened? A Moon Knight episode 6 recap

For the most part, Moon Knight's final episode on Disney+ was more of a straight-up conflict against Harrow and Ammit. Compared to earlier episodes, this one has more action in it, particularly the one that features a montage of Moon Knight and Mr. Knight.

Layla, Marc, and Steven are successful in defeating Harrow and Ammit. At the same time, they reject Khonshu by not killing Harrow and being released from his service. But as the two think that they are already free, the Egyptian god still had the upper hand in the end.

During the end credits, the much-awaited Jake Lockley personality is revealed, along with the detail that he is Khonshu's new avatar. While Marc and Steven are unaware of this development, this opens the door for future seasons and possible appearances of Moon Knight in other Marvel projects.
