Heading into Game 1 of the NBA Finals, one of the minor storylines about Stephen Curry concerning the persistent swelling around his right elbow that led to him a wear a shooting sleeve.

The Golden State Warriors All-Star guard once again donned the sleeve to protect his shooting elbow on Thursday night, but quickly changed his mind about wearing it early in the first quarter that led to a huge offensive performance.

Curry caught fire in the third quarter scoring 16 points in the third quarter that was nearly responsible for half of the Warriors' 33 points in the period that stretched the lead to more than 20 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The reigning back-to-back MVP finished with a double-double recording 28 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field including 6-of-11 from beyond the arc along with 10 assists in the blowout win. He and Kevin Durant, who scored a game-high 38 points, were the only Warriors' player to score in double-figures for the game.

His strong performance erases any concern moving forward that it will affect his play on the court in fashion. Keep in mind, Golden State had the benefit of a nine-day layover between the Western Conference Finals to the NBA Finals.

It has been a strong postseason run for Curry leading the Warriors to an unblemished record. He was averaging a team-leading 28.6 points on 50.2 percent shooting from the field and 43.1 percent from 3-point range.
