After securing what seemed to be an unlikely 118-113 Game 3 win, the Golden State Warriors now possess the longest playoff win streak across the NBA, MLB, or NHL history, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

The win now moves the Cleveland Cavaliers to a dark abyss which is being down 3-0 in a best-of-seven series, a deficit no other team in NBA history has been able to overcome. Teams are a total 0-126 when going down 3-0 in a playoff series.

Thanks to a Kevin Durant wing 3-pointer in the last 45 seconds of the game, Golden State was able to rail off an 11-0 run in the last two minutes and 18 seconds, holding the Cavs to an 0-for-8 stretch since the 2:45 mark of the fourth quarter.

The Warriors responded by making all three of their shot attempts and all four of their free throws, having held the Cavs to a 19-point fourth period.

LeBron James played all but two minutes of Game 3, in which his team was an awful minus-12 points during his absence. Cleveland was only plus-seven points with King James on the floor.

Having secured a place in multi-sport history, the Warriors will hope to put an end to these NBA Finals on Friday, when they face the Cavs at home again at 9:00 p.m. EST.
