Late in the second quarter of the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors second-round NBA Playoff matchup, Warriors forward Draymond Green was charged with a flagrant 2 foul and subsequently ejected from the contest after he made contact with Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke.
Green hand a hand on Clarke’s jersey during a shot with 1:18 left in the quarter, where Clarke went down to the floor hard. After the referee crew reviewed the play, it was ruled a flagrant 2, which meant an automatic ejection for Green.

Shortly after the game, Draymond Green took to his podcast “The Draymond Green Show” via The Volume's YouTube channel for an emergency episode to react to the ejection and give fans his side of the story after being tossed. From his hotel room in Memphis, Green provided his analysis of the play.

Green would go on to say that he was attempting to hold up Brandon Clarke, “Once he hit the ground I was still holding his jersey,” the Warriors big man would say.
Seconds later, Green would discuss his expectations in situations like tonight's removal with his ejection history in mind. “I mean, at this point I kind of expect things like that, like, I've been suspended for game five of the NBA Finals. Do you think I, for one second, don't believe I would get kicked out of game one of the second round? Not surprising to me at all. Not one bit” referring to his long-standing run-ins with NBA officials. One such run-in led to his suspension in the 2016 NBA Finals where the Warriors would allow the Cleveland Cavaliers to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the championship.
