Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green says star point guard Stephen Curry has done everything possible to make sure center DeMarcus Cousins has felt comfortable with the Dubs.

Cousins missed the first 45 games of the season while recovering from the Achilles tear he suffered last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Curry wanted to make sure Boogie felt part of the team and culture while he was rehabbing his injury.

“He’s committed himself to make sure DeMarcus is comfortable and to make sure DeMarcus feels like this is home,” Green said, via Mark Medina of The Mercury News. “He’s never been a guy that is not welcoming of anyone. When that’s the face of your franchise, that is important.”

Well before Cousins showed that following his return on Jan. 18, Curry tried to make his new All-Star teammate feel welcome. … On trips, Curry often sat near Cousins on team dinners. Before and during Cousins’ return, Curry often had food delivered to Cousins’ hotel room during trip. What was the food? Curry leaned on his wife, Ayesha, who owns the restaurant, International Smoke.

In 23 games with the Warriors, Cousins is averaging 15.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest while shooting 48.5 percent from the field, 25.4 percent from beyond the arc and 75.9 percent from the free-throw line.
