One NBA rookie who has quietly had a very impressive 2017-18 season so far is Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, who has worked his way into the team's starting lineup. As Utah's second-leading scorer with 14.9 points per game after he was taken 13th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft out of the University of Louisville.
As a rookie, sometimes it's best to spend your hard-earned money to buy gifts for loved ones. On Thursday, Mitchell did exactly that when he posted a video on his Instagram account of himself after he bought his mother, Nicole, a brand-new car.

Mitchell returned home to Greenwich, Conn. while the Jazz (7-10) continue their four-game road trip on the East Coast.
After their first road win of the season tonight in a huge blowout of the Orlando Magic at Amway Center, the Jazz will fly north to battle star center Joel Embiid and the up-and-coming Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night at Wells Fargo Center.
