Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has finally broken his silence on the fight between Sixers big man Joel Embiid and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns.
Butler, who has played with both Embiid and Towns, knew Embiid was going to drag him into the social media jabs on Wednesday night:
Jimmy Butler to @KristenLedlow on Embiid-Towns: “I knew somehow someway I was going to get (dragged) into the clash of the titans. …As soon as I saw it, I was like ‘Here we go. My name’s getting thrown into it.’ And Jo is my guy. I knew he would be the one to throw me into it.”

In case you missed it, Embiid went after Towns very hard after the two All-Stars traded jabs. The Sixers star brought Butler into the mix as well:

That tough guy act ain’t cutting it …. you know what you are.. you know what you’ve always been>>> A PUSSY (SAY IT LOUDER FOR PEOPLE IN THE BACK) Been kicking your ass and pretty please make the playoffs before you talk. It’s a known thing that I OWN YOU. @KarlTowns pic.twitter.com/Izqwk3pEnM

When Butler had his infamous practice with the Timberwolves last season after requesting his trade, he went out of his way to challenge Towns, as well as Andrew Wiggins. Butler and Towns had a murky relationship and Butler reportedly got fed up with the nonchalant attitude of KAT.
Butler’s way of leading a team didn’t work with Towns and the All-Star swingman felt he couldn’t compete for a championship with the former No. 1 overall pick. Jimmy enjoyed playing with Embiid on the Sixers last season. The two are fierce competitors and love confrontation.
Butler is now on the Heat, trying to lead Miami back to the playoffs. Everyone on NBA twitter was waiting to see what Butler had to say about the Embiid-Towns fight. People knew Butler was going to side with Embiid at the end of the day.
