The New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings will be participating in the NBA draft lottery after they both missed out on postseason play, going a combined 5-11 in the seeding games in Orlando.

Now, without playoff games to tweet about, the social media accounts of the Pelicans and Kings had some fun on Monday and engaged in a playful Drake-themed Twitter trash talk after the results of the NBA lottery tiebreakers were announced. For what it's worth, Sacramento won the coin flip and will get the no. 12 spot in the lottery.

The teams were tied at 28-36 when the regular season was suspended in March.

On the court, Sacramento defeated Philly twice in the bubble, and so their Twitter account roasted the “Pelicans fans after going 0-3 against the Kings in August” — including the lottery tiebreaker.

The said tweet included a photo of a tearful Drake from his new “Laugh Now, Cry Later” video, with a Pelicans hat photoshopped in place of Aubrey's Toronto Raptors lid.

The Pelicans' Twitter account seemed to take that personally, clapping back at the Kings by pointing out the decade-plus of underwhelming basketball the NBA franchise has produced.

The virtual NBA draft lottery will take place this Thursday, Aug. 20. The tiebreaker results give Sacramento a 1.3% chance to win the no. 1 overall pick, while the Pelicans have a 1.2% chance to win the lottery for the second year in a row.

This week, Vlade Divac and Peja Stojakovic stepped down as Kings' GM and assistant GM, respectively.
