The Golden State Warriors have steered the ship to smooth sailing after a worrisome 1-2 start to the regular season. While they at times proved to be their own worst enemy with persistent examples of carelessness turned into racking up turnovers, Steve Kerr has managed to get his players focused enough to get into a five-game win streak.
Kerr mentioned how his star point guard Stephen Curry had improved defensively to the point where he didn't need to “hide him on defense” — but this time he further explained the length of his progress at that end of the floor.
“His attention to detail is better,” said Kerr. “He used to get beat off the ball a lot backdoor, now maybe only one time has he been beaten backdoor where he lost vision. So he is much more focused now than he used to be.”

Curry's activity has proven his best friend on defense, often with his hands high, getting into passing lanes and tipping passes from offensive players. His downside has been his knack of gambling on plays, sometimes resulting in a steal, and other times in a score for his opponent.
Yet the All-Star floor general has managed to overcome a shaky three-game start with foul trouble and move his feet enough to make him an improved, more aware defender — staying true to the two-way mentality this roster has committed to under Kerr.
