Deion Sanders doesn't want the Colorado football team to get comfortable. After pulling off a 45-42 upset over TCU in Deion Sanders' debut, the Colorado football team was catapulted into the national rankings. Sanders is well aware that the Buffaloes will be in trouble against Nebraska if they start buying into their own hype.
The Colorado football has gone from being the ultimate underdogs to favorites. The Buffaloes are expected to beat Nebraska in Saturday's matchup. Ahead of Colorado's Week 2 game, Sanders warned his players not to rest on their laurels.
“Do not take complacency,” Sanders said in a speech that is making its way across social media. “Because I don't want them really feeling like they accomplished something because we ain't accomplished a darn thing yet. Nothing. We did what we were supposed to do. So I don't know why you think it was something special. Because that was what we were supposed to do.”

It's easy to see how Colorado might come out flat against Nebraska. The Buffaloes are the biggest story in college football. Travis Hunter is being hailed as a Heisman Trophy candidate for his prowess as a wide receiver and a cornerback in the same game. Shedeur Sanders is being projected as a possible first-round draft pick after his 510-yard, four-touchdown performance against TCU.
Deion Sanders made it clear that he expected to beat TCU. The Colorado football coach feels the same way about the team's upcoming games. He hopes his players echo that sentiment.
“You should expect success,” Sanders said. “You should know how to handle success. We should know how to deal with success…Success is who you are. It's part of your daily life.”
