The New York Giants are set to take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and hope to earn their first win of the season. Luckily for them, the Falcons have been less than impressive so far, making this a good matchup for New York. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Giants Week 3 prediction.

New York has a decent enough defense to be competitive. The talent is there, they just have to put everything together. Going up against the Falcons is a nice matchup for the Giants, as they have a chance to bounce back and prove themselves against a struggling offense. Look for New York to turn it up a notch and attack Matt Ryan throughout the game.

On the offense, the Giants have looked good so far. Sterling Shepard has been the most consistent receiver on the roster. He should be in for another big performance and serve as Daniel Jones' top target. Due to the horrific defense in Atlanta, we could see Jones have a field day on Sunday. Lastly, it's been a while since we've seen Saquon Barkley perform at a high level. This is a prime matchup for the Giants superstar to bounce back. With that said, here are four bold Giants Week 3 predictions against the Falcons.

Giants Week 3 Predictions

4. Giants defense stifles the Falcons run game

In the opening two weeks of the regular season, the Falcons offense has been putrid, to say the least. The Giants should have a field day in this matchup, especially in regards to stopping the run game. Mike Davis has been ineffective so far and it's unknown if Cordarrell Patterson is consistent. Look for New York to shut down the Falcons rush attack and challenge Atlanta to throw the ball.

3. Sterling Shepard continues to be a consistent target

It's rather surprising to see Sterling Shepard play as the best receiver on the team right now. The front office spent a ton of money to acquire Kenny Golladay, then used a first-round draft pick on Kadarius Toney. Neither of which have been utilized and it's not Daniel Jones' fault. Either way, Shepard is likely to continue playing as the top wideout on the roster. Look for him to have another big game as the Giants hope to earn a victory on Sunday.

2. Daniel Jones goes ballistic for 300+ yards and 3 touchdowns

The Falcons might have the worst defense in the league. They've been torched in both of their games so far and it'll likely happen again in Week 3. Daniel Jones has looked like a solid starting quarterback so far this year. His receivers struggle to get open and the offensive line can't protect him.

Even so, Jones is playing like the franchise quarterback the Giants need, despite whatever opinions of him are floating around on social media. We should see him light it up on Sunday, as he's facing a miserable Falcons secondary.

1. Saquon Barkley proves he's one of the best running backs in the league

We haven't seen Saquon Barkley perform at his best for quite some time now. However, this slow start was expected. After having 10 days to prepare for a bad Falcons defense, Saquon Barkley is primed to bounce back in a huge way. If the Giants hope to be a playoff team, they have to give the ball to Barkley. He's the best player on the offense and could be in for a massive performance against Atlanta.
