The Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs competed in a Monday Night Football showdown that was for the ages that saw them post the highest-scoring game on that stage.

It lived up to all the massive expectations with it being a quarterback duel between two young stars with Jared Goff and Patrick Mahomes leading the charge with their arms in a game that features many offensive fireworks. Following the game, the two quarterbacks embraced in what was the most enticing matchup of the season.

Although Goff got the upper hand in the end, Mahomes showed why he is one of the frontrunners for the MVP awards as he completed 33-of-46 passes for 478 yards with six touchdown passes. This was the sixth this season that has notched four more touchdown passes and the second time that he accomplished that feat. However, it was his mistakes with the three interceptions that proved to be the difference in the contest.

Mahomes had his first interception returned for a touchdown while the latter two came on the Chiefs' final two drives of the game that put the game in the Rams' favor. He also fumbled twice one being returned for a touchdown with both leading to points for the Rams. He certainly displayed much poise beyond those turnovers that wound up being difference makers in the game. Despite all of this, the Chiefs were able to stay in the game and had a chance to win against another powerhouse team on the road.

Meanwhile, Goff put up his own huge outing by completing 31-of-49 passes for 413 yards with four touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown. He more than held his own helping the Rams respond to each of the Chiefs' scoring drives. He also had a pair of fumbles, but he was able to lead a game-winning touchdown drive in the final two minutes of the game that proved to be the difference. All in all, it was a game that has been etched as one of the greatest that the league has seen.
