Last season, the Dallas Cowboys were the team to beat in the NFC. Rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott proved to be the real deal and led the team to an impressive 13-3 record and the number one seed in the conference.
This season, however, has gone much differently for many reasons. The Cowboys are coming off another embarrassing without their suspended star running back coming out of the backfield, and everything is seemingly trending in the wrong direction for Dallas. Even owner Jerry Jones has admitted the team just isn't very good this time around, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.
“We’re not a good team right now,” Jones said.
After suffering a third straight loss with the Los Angeles Chargers crushing the Cowboys 28-6 on Thanksgiving Day, Jones was asked about head coach Jason Garrett's job status which is quickly becoming a hot topic of discussion in Dallas, via Williams.

That’s not what I’m saying. I feel good about our staff. I’m not equivocating about it. This is not the negative vote of confidence at all. I feel real good about [the staff].”
The Cowboys are now 5-6 on the season and still have a few more games ahead of them before they get Ezekiel back in the fold. Prescott is even showing signs of regression with the second-year quarterback really struggling for the first time in his NFL career further adding to the team's concerns offensively.
If the team can't drastically turn things around, the Cowboys could be headed for a disappointing end to the season with questions continuing to loom about Garrett and whether a change needs to be made at head coach.
