The Dallas Cowboys shocked the NFL world on Thursday after finalizing a trade to send Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Dallas received two first-round picks and veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark in the deal. On Friday, after arriving at the facilities, Clark shared a reassuring message about the trade.

While talking with media members, the 29-year-old defensive lineman claims that owner and general manager Jerry Jones called him ahead of time and told Clark that he would be completely informed of what's going on before the trade was announced to the public, according to Insider Ed Werder. Jones apparently didn't want Kenny Clark to feel out of the loop during trade discussions.

New Cowboys DT Kenny Clark said Jerry Jones met with him with the message that the trade wasn't happening without him knowing it. He said it was reassuring to know he’s wanted.”

Additionally, the three-time Pro Bowler explained how he plans to fit into the Cowboys' defense, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. Kenny Clark said that he plans to watch film to get acclimated and that he lets his game do the talking. From the sounds of it, he plans to be fully prepared to play in the Week 1 opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he can play where Dallas needs him to play.

“New Cowboys DT Kenny Clark: ‘Just watch the film. I don't do too much talking. My game speaks for itself. … I can get off the ball with the best of them.' Clark said he's ready to play nose tackle or 3-tech. He said his toe injury is behind him. He's healthy and ready to go. He hopes to be on the field Thursday night against the Eagles. Jerry Jones told Clark the Micah Parsons trade doesn't happen without Clark being part of it.”

The Cowboys begin the season with a “Thursday Night Football” matchup against the Eagles on September 4. It will be the first regular-season contest of the year. We'll see if Kenny Clark can be ready to go for that contest. If not, then we should expect him to be ready by Week 2.
