The Detroit Lions have not had a good 2019 campaign, to say the least.
Entering Week 16, the Lions are just 3-10-1 and are in the midst of a seven-game losing streak. To be fair, Detroit has had a whole lot of injury issues, especially at the quarterback position, but patience is beginning to run thin.
Now in his second season as head coach of the Lions, Matt Patricia is starting to feel the heat after a 6-10 debut campaign in 2018 and a disastrous 2019, but he thinks that with better health and some offseason additions, Detroit will be in decent shape moving forward:

[We’re] a team that’s going to go out and compete, and really care about each. I think that’s the start.”
The Lions actually looked alright early on in the season, as they went 2-0-1 over their first three games and then played the Kansas City Chiefs tough in a 34-30 loss in Week 4.
Since then, however, Detroit has been on a downward spiral, with its only victory coming at the expense of the lowly New York Giants back on Oct. 27.
The Lions have made just three playoff appearances since 2000 and have not won a playoff game since the 1991-92 campaign.
