The Seattle Seahawks are set to host the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon. Although neither team is eligible for playoff contention, the Week 17 matchup definitely holds a lot of weight for both teams. The Lions have only two wins on the season, so their pride and the future of the franchise are on the line. As for the Seahawks, this could be Russell Wilson's last home game at Lumen Field. Let's take a look at my four boldest predictions for the NFC matchup.

Seahawks Week 17 Predictions
4. Rough start for Seattle
The Detroit Lions have nothing but pride on the line in these last two weeks of the season. With that in mind, expect them to come out of the gates extremely aggressive and put up points very early on. The charge will be led by Detroit's top-run game producer. They are anticipating the return of running back D'Andre Swift for Week 17, who has missed the past four games due to an injury suffered on Thanksgiving. By halftime, expect the Lions to be up by two scores, and expect at least one of them to be a rushing touchdown from Swift.
3. Russell Wilson's last game
There has been a lot of talks recently about potential trades for the Seahawks' longtime quarterback, Russell Wilson. He made it clear that this isn't his last season in the NFL, but it could be his last season with Seattle. Wilson has been with the Seahawks since being drafted by Seattle in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft and even led the team to a Super Bowl win. However, it looks like this will be Wilson's final home game at Lumen Field.
Expect the quarterback to have a lot of nostalgia on Sunday, similar to that of Ben Roethlisberger Monday night. Big Ben is expected to retire at the end of this season, ending his career-long stint as the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback.
2. Wilson's best game since Week 5
It's no secret that Russell Wilson hasn't been the same dominant quarterback that Seattle loves. This is largely attributed to his finger injury from Week 5. Wilson spent Week 6 through 9 (their bye week) recovering from surgery he had to repair the injury on his throwing hand. He hasn't been the same since, but expect that to change in Week 17.
Wilson has the most to prove out of everyone in the Seahawks vs Lions matchup. He is on the market for next season, and he needs to perform on Sunday to prove that he can be a valuable asset to potential employers. Expect Wilson's best game since the beginning of this season.
1. Lions take the win
Wilson will do what he can to get his team back into the game after being down at the end of the first half, but it won't be enough. The momentum of the Lions will be just enough for them to seal the deal and earn their third win of the season. Finally, my boldest prediction yet: Lions win 31-14.
