The Green Bay Packers are entering this week's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers with a 7-1 record. They have been playing impressive football so far this season and have shown no signs of slowing down.

Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur have the offense clicking on all cylinders, but the defense has been sputtering the last couple of weeks. Mike Pettine and company need to figure that side of the football out. Unfortunately, they will have to do that against a Chargers offense that has a ton of weapons.

In order to pull off another big win and improve to 8-1, the Packers will need some players to step up. The Chargers may not have a good record, but they are not a bad football team.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at two major X-Factors for the Packers this week against the Chargers.

Kenny Clark, Defensive Tackle

One of the biggest keys this week will be limiting the Chargers on the ground. That is where big defensive tackle Kenny Clark will come into play. If he can clog up the middle, the Packers will have a chance to get some pressure on Philip Rivers and force some key mistakes.

While Melvin Gordon may have held out for a big chunk of the season and may not look like his superstar self, he is still a star. At any moment, he could break off a massive game-changing play. Clark is going to be the first level of defense trying to prevent that from happening.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Wide Receiver

Secondly, the Packers are going to need their second year wide receiver to step up. Marquez Valdes-Scantling has shown big-play potential this season, but he hasn't done so consistently. He has had some big games, but then he has had games like last week with just one catch for four yards.

Davante Adams may be returning this week, but the Packers need MVS to come through with a big game as the No. 2 receiver. Rodgers has been playing like an MVP lately and has a good chance to continue that play this week. If Valdes-Scantling plays to his potential, the Packers' offense is going to be very difficult to stop.
