The Green Bay Packers were defeated 13-10 by the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs.
Given that the Packers were a team that had a chance to win the Super Bowl, this was one of the bigger upsets in recent NFL history. Aaron Rodgers, the Packers star quarterback, did not have the game he had hoped for, throwing for only 225 yards and no touchdowns.
Despite the fact that the Packers did not have the season they had hoped for after being upset in the playoffs, Aaron Rodgers had an MVP-caliber season and has plenty to be proud of after dealing with adversity during the summer and regular season.
Aaron Rodgers had this to say about the Packers 2021 season and his individual performance, according to Ryan Wood, Packers beat reporter for the Green Bay Press-Gazette:
“I've never played better in the face of such an adverse year, and I'm very proud of that.”
It'll be an interesting offseason in Green Bay, and the Packers will be hoping to keep Rodgers. He's been the face of this franchise for the past decade, and without him, they won't be able to achieve the same level of success as they have in previous years.
The season did not finish as the Packers had hoped, but there are brighter days ahead, and the potential of Aaron Rodgers returning to the team next season would definitely thrill many fans.
